Olympic weightlifting rewards precision. A few degrees in your setup, a fraction of a second in your turnover, the path the bar travels off the floor — those details decide whether the lift makes or misses. Alexa May has spent over a decade chasing those details on the platform, and she coaches them the same way she trains them.

Since 2013 she has competed in CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting, finishing top-3 at USA Weightlifting Senior Nationals and placing at the VIRUS Open Series and North American Open Series. That lived platform experience shows up in every cue — because she has felt the position she is asking you to find.

Whether you are picking up a barbell for the first time, cleaning up self-taught habits, or preparing for your first sanctioned meet, coaching starts where you actually are. Movement screen first, then technique, then load. No skipping steps.

Coaching happens in person on the gym floor across Las Vegas and Henderson, or fully online with video review — so athletes outside the valley get the same eyes on every rep.

Positional drilling for the snatch and clean & jerk, broken into pieces you can actually feel. We fix the setup, the pull, and the turnover with progressions and video review — not guesswork.

Percentage-based training blocks built around your schedule and recovery, with accessory and strength work that supports the lifts instead of burying them. Progress is planned, not random.

Opener selection, warm-up timing, attempt strategy, and the mental side of stepping onto the platform — coached by someone who competes at the national level and knows the room.

A national competitor in your corner.

Alexa holds USA Weightlifting Level 1 & 2 coaching certifications, a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Louisville, and CrossFit L1/L2 and Precision Nutrition credentials. She has coached more than 300 athletes — from first-timers to national qualifiers — and still trains and competes herself, so the cues you get are tested under a loaded bar, not just out of a textbook.
